Multi Millionnaire businessman has bought Bath Rugby Club

Bristol-born Bruce Craig has bought Bath Rugby and has ambitious plans to replace Bath's current ground, the Rec, with a larger stadium as well as financing new headquarters and a training facility at Farleigh, Hungerford.

Bruce Craig sold his company, which provided transport for medical specimens, for £975m in January.

Craig said: "I hope to be able to combine my business experience and my passion for rugby to take this club to another level."

The Club is in talks with various landowners in its search for a new 20-25,000 stadium within Bath.

Bristol law firm, Burges Salmon, was delighted to act as legal adviser on the sale of the Club.

Real People

"Although it was great to experience London life I was keen to move back to the South West and soon secured a job in Bristol. I have been living in Bristol since April 2007 and there are loads of reasons why I love it here. Socially, Bristol is a vibrant city; there are a wealth of diverse areas offering different things to do and see, from the exclusive bars and restaurants of Clifton Village to the historic sites, galleries and museums of the city centre."
