Bedminster and Southville

BedminsterThe BS3 area situated just South of the city centre has been increasingly popular in recent years with properties of all types selling even when the market has been tougher in other regions. The general stock comprises Victorian Terraces, 1930s Semis and new build flats, bringing a varied demographic to the area and to North Street with its eclectic selection of cafes / bars and retail shops.

There are great links from BS3, it is walking distance to the city centre and Temple Meads train station as well as good access to the cities road network. The Tobacco Factory, which some people say has been the catalyst for the increase in popularity in the area, has a thriving theatre and bar and holds local markets every Sunday. There are a few health clubs in BS3 the principle being David Lloyd just at the foot of the Ashton Court Estate which holds events all through the year including the internationally renowned Balloon Fiesta.

As for schools Ashton Park is the main Secondary School which is known locally for its sports academy, there are a quite a few primary schools in the area but the catchment area for Southville Primary is getting smaller due to the baby boom over recent years.

Real People

"I moved to Bristol from London a year ago and I've never felt more settled. The city is big enough to boast diversity, culture and various tourist attractions and has an excellent new shopping centre. Initially, I thought I'd be homesick for London but I'm not a bit.  Bristol offers affordable rents, good public transport, lots of pedestrian retail areas and plenty of fashionable eateries, pubs and... people!"
