A Cozinha

A fabulously authentic Portuguese restaurant tucked in the recesses of Kingsdown, A Cozinha (‘the kitchen’) is the sort of restaurant you can happily lose yourself in, working your way through the irresistible menu.

From salt cod to pan-fried chorizo, everything is sourced and cooked by the chef/owner Ian Macfarlane, with a wonderfully simple pricing policy – a set price for one, two or three courses, with no hidden extras apart from the specially-sourced wine list which dispels any notions that it’s only port the Portuguese can excel in. Watching the passion with which Ian prepares and serves your food from the open-view kitchens, it doesn’t get much more intimate.
