KPMG
KPMG in the UK was ranked The Sunday Times Best Big Company to Work For in 2009 for an unprecedented third time. Employing 400 staff at its offices in Bristol city centre, who work with a wide portfolio of clients on a range of projects, the local office of professional services firm KPMG offers its people the best of both worlds.
KPMG’s full range of services are represented in Bristol with audit, tax and advisory teams working with some of the city’s - and wider South West region’s – most interesting and dynamic businesses. KPMG in the UK is part of Europe ELLP, now made up of KPMG in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Belgium and on 1st October 2009 was formally joined by KPMG in the Netherlands, the CIS, Turkey and Luxembourg. We are the largest integrated providers of Audit, Tax and Advisory services in Europe. Forming KPMG Europe LLP has created exceptional opportunities for our firm's people to work internationally, both internally with our colleagues, and externally in client–facing teams.
The Bristol office is very supportive of charity and community work. It has an annual community day where all staff are invited to head out of the office for a day to take part in a range of projects with organisations across the city. The Bristol office is also a strong supporter of KPMG’s staff selected charity – currently the Alzheimer’s Society – and organises regular events and activities to raise funds for it.
On the social side, the social committee regularly organises events ranging from black-tie dinners to sports tournaments and quizzes which brings staff from different departments together and allows new joiners to establish and develop relationships with everyone from partners to trainees.

Real People
Robert Fenner moved to Bristol from Grayling's London office in July 2008. "It was a really good move for me," he says. "The energy in business here is as dynamic as anywhere else, and the quality of life is so much better. Bristol has an identity of its own, and the South-West is a great place to be - whether as a next step or as a starting point in a public relations career. I'd recommend it to anyone."
Robert Fenner, Grayling
