Ferguson Mann Architects
Ferguson Mann Architects has a national reputation for award-winning architecture, urban design, conservation and creative regeneration. We believe strongly in working closely with our clients and responding to the ‘genius of the place’. We create and conserve special buildings and places, always guided by principles of sustainability. Since we first formed in the South West in 1978, we have always had a clear focus on adding value to projects.
Our team of approx 20 staff works out of a delightful Grade II Listed Georgian building, located just off Park Street in central Bristol.
We are a creative and forward-looking employer with a commitment to staff training, equal opportunities. and achieving a good work-life balance. The office is run in an open way that promotes communication and encourages staff participation across the board. Ingenuity, drive and energetic contribution is rewarded through a staff profit share scheme.
The practice balances a wide variety of different projects with directors closely involved on every scheme. We share our ideas and enhance individual strategic design skills through design reviews - every project we work on gets thorough scrutiny, without exception.
We select the highest quality staff for our office and make sure that we develop their talents. We therefore have an extensive CPD programme that extends beyond technical matters to embrace management aspects that fit with our business goals.
Throughout the year we have an active social diary, which includes building visits as well as the annual Acanthus conference.

"Having spent 10 years living and working in Central London for a busy Local Authority and then a major Housebuilder a move to somewhere a little quieter but with similar job and lifestyle opportunities seemed appealing... but did such a place exist? Personal circumstances lead me to Bristol. Having only visited Bristol on a handful of occasions I moved here and found a job with planning consultancy WYG. Having spent the last few months getting to know the City and adjusting to my new work role, Bristol seems to hold the perfect balance. The City is vibrant with lots going on in the arts and culture world. It has an interesting history with wonderful architecture and a beautiful waterside setting. There are so many places to explore and endless places to be entertained, fed and watered"
