Burges Salmon

Consistently ranked amongst the UK's most successful law firms, over recent years Burges Salmon has experienced exceptional growth as the firm continues to win prestigious clients out of the hands of its City rivals.

The firm's lawyers are leaders in their fields with a formidable depth of experience; they are ambitious and forward thinking with a united desire to deliver quality work to the firm's clients. The firm has achieved recognition of its success through the Chambers Global UK Law Firm of the Year shortlist and narrowly missing out on a second win as top UK firm from RollOnFriday's voters.

Burges Salmon remains a single-site national firm; the result is a cohesive, communicative environment which allows lawyers to develop stronger working relationships across departments, resulting in an enhanced service for the firm's clients. In particular the firm has developed a capability to take on technically complex work that City of London firms struggle to handle economically or enthusiastically.

Key Clients/Type of Work

The firm's national and international client base ranges from private individuals to government departments and FTSE 100 companies including Orange, Barclays Bank, The Crown Estate, BAE Systems, Bank of Scotland, The Ministry of Defence and First Group.

Real People

"Having spent 10 years living and working in Central London for a busy Local Authority and then a major Housebuilder a move to somewhere a little quieter but with similar job and lifestyle opportunities seemed appealing... but did such a place exist? Personal circumstances lead me to Bristol. Having only visited Bristol on a handful of occasions I moved here and found a job with planning consultancy WYG. Having spent the last few months getting to know the City and adjusting to my new work role, Bristol seems to hold the perfect balance. The City is vibrant with lots going on in the arts and culture world. It has an interesting history with wonderful architecture and a beautiful waterside setting.  There are so many places to explore and endless places to be entertained, fed and watered"
